SMED: Increase your production flexibility

SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Die) is one of the methodologies developed within Lean manufacturing. It focuses on reducing the time needed to reconfigure or replace production equipment. The aim of SMED is to reduce these times as much as possible, thus enabling more flexible production and faster changeovers between different production runs.

Using the hands-on SMED workshop, you will discover hidden potentials in the tooling and alignment conversion process, increase the efficiency of your production processes and minimize downtime.

What's in store for you:

  • Introduction to SMED, basic principles and benefits, theoretical preparation
  • Analysis of existing processes, measurement of internal and external times, data collection in production
  • Evaluation of results, identification of losses and potentials
  • Design of an optimized solution, proposal of new standards
  • Testing the new solution

For whom the workshop is intended:

  • Production Managers
  • Managers and foremen
  • Technologists
  • Process Engineers
